Hello I'm Sam! I'm primarily a photographer but have been drawing since I could hold a pen. I am inspired by all things old world and vintage, anything Victorian, knight or pirate related. I’m your man! I have spent my entire life living a pebbles throw from the sea so that is a pretty constant theme in most of my work. My favourite way of working is to start off with Pen & Ink or watercolour and give it a final element digitally but I'm always willing to give anything new a go.

My work focuses a lot on portraiture, fantasy and animals. I draw a lot of my inspiration from the natural world but love to get down on paper a character that I have developed in my head. I work primarily with pencils on brown paper but also tinker with home made jewellery.

As an artist my passion is anything flora/ fauna associated, whimsical twining leaves and delicate flowers. I love the ethereal feeling this creates when making mixed media pieces, layering various materials and mediums to create something unusual and quite unique. I also specialise in portraiture, mostly in simple pen and ink or pencil drawings, but love the effect that a splash of colour can achieve, water colour and oil on canvas being something I enjoy the most.

I love to illustrate animals, although I've recently started a mini landmark series inspired by adventures and local landmarks. My illustrations are usually always mixed media, with my favourite starting point being pen & ink, from there it's quite process led, building up layers before finishing off digitally.
